Gladiator Youth Football

Gladiator Youth Football will offer a positive, exciting tackle football and cheerleading experience for the youth of Clarke County.  There will be teams at the 6U, 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, and 7th grade (12 and 13) levels coached by skilled and knowledgeable individuals.  The teams will compete in the North Georgia Youth Football Association and play their home games in Clarke Central’s Billy Henderson Stadium.

EXTREME HEAT: Gladiator Youth Football will adhere to the GHSA Heat and Humidity Guidelines for Practice to ensure the health and safety of our athletes.  Please check you email for daily practice updates. 

 

GYF 7U and 8U Teams Combined

The Gladiator Youth Football 7U and 8U teams have been combined into one team.  The team will play the 8U schedule.  Email gladiatoryouthfootball@gmail.com in you have any questions.

 

Helmet Eye Shields must be clear

Tinted eye shields are not allowed by the NGYFA.  The NGYFA adheres to the GHSA rules and tinted visors were deemed illegal this year by the GHSA.

Gladiator Youth Football 2023

FOOTBALL AND CHEERLEADING REGISTRATION 

  • Registration will remain open until team number reaches cap limits.
    • Cap Limits for 6U, 7U, 8U, 9U - 25 players per team
    • Cap Limits for 10U, 11U, and 7th grade - 35 players per team
  • Registration Fees:
    • Youth Football - $80
    • Youth Cheerleading - $50

RULES FOR PARTICIPATION 

A student who registers for Gladiator Youth Football must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Reside in the Clarke Central High School attendance zone, AND/OR
  • Attend a CCSD elementary school or middle school in the Clarke Central High School attendance zone.

If you do not meet at least one of these criteria DO NOT proceed with registration. The NGYFA Eligibility Rules require players to be residents within such district and/or attend school in the attendance zone for the high school they are playing for. 

AGE CONTROL

The age control date is August 1, 2023 for each playing level. You cannot register to play up online. Decisions to play up will be made manually based on participation numbers at the higher level and player ability. 

UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT

  • Football players will be provided
    • Sublimated reversible game jersey that is to be returned at the end of the season.
    • Game pants that are to be returned at the end of the season.
    • Helmet and shoulder pads that are to be returned at the end of the season.
    • Football players must provide cleats, socks, and any additional equipment.
    • Cheerleaders will be provided a cheer uniform  that is to be returned at the end of the season.
    • Cheerleaders must provide shoes and socks.
    • Special Note:  The website originally stated the football jersey and cheerleading uniform could be kept by the participant at the end of the season.  That was a mistake.  Football helmets, shoulder pads, football uniforms, and cheerleading uniforms were purchased by Youth Development Initiative funds and must be returned at the end of the season in order to be available for future seasons.  Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Points of Emphasis

  • Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from practices and games.
  • Only coaches and players are allowed in the designated practice and playing areas.

Practice 

  • Football and cheer practice will begin on Tuesday, August 8.​​​​​​
  • During August practice will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 - 10:30 am.
  • All practices will be at Clarke Central High School the first week of practice (Aug 8, Aug 9, Aug 10, and Aug 12).
  • Football players need to wear shorts, white t-shirt, and cleats along with their helmet (no shoulder pads) for the first week of practice.
  • Cheerleaders need to wear shorts, white t-shirt, and tennis shoes for the first week of practice.

Games

  • The first football game will be on Saturday, September 9.
  • The game schedule will be made available as soon as it is released by the NGYFA.
  • All games will be played on Saturdays.  Home games will be played in Clarke Central’s Billy Henderson Stadium.
