Gladiator Athletics: Week of May 1, 2023

  • Boys 4x100m Relay (Braylen Fleming, Chris Goss, Bartez Gillispie, Shavique Bascus alternate Derrion Richardson) Region Champions; Shavique Bascus Region Champion 100m and 200m; James “JD” Daniel Region Champion 800m and Region Runner-Up 1600m; Beck Wolf-Hardy Region Champion 3200m and 4th Place 1600m; Clarie Bruner Region Champion High Jump; Breyanna Williams Region Runner-Up High Jump; Mikell Bell Region Runner-up High Jump; Braylen Fleming 3rd Place 110H and 4th Place 300H; Boys 4x800m Relay (Eliu Flores, JD Daniel, Ryan Marshall, Beck Wolf-Hardy) 3rd Place; and Anthony Lonon 4th Place Discus. These athletes will compete in the GHSA State AAAAA Sectional Track Meet at Jefferson on Saturday, May 6.

  • Congratulations to the following Girls Soccer players for being selected to the 2023 All-Region 8AAAAA team: Bella Yelton, Evin Carvell, and Mya Sims.

  • Congratulations to the following Boys Soccer players for being selected to the 2023 All-Region 8AAAAA team: Thadd Pruitt, Raul Navarro, Grady Payne, and Uli Silis.

  • Free Sports Physicals for Clarke Central Athletes will be Saturday, May 6 at Piedmont Sports Medicine. Buses will depart Clarke Central at 9:00 am. Athletes must have the Athletic Physical Form with parents’ signature and the Medical History section complete.  Printed Athletic Physical forms are available in the Athletic Trainers office.
