IMPORTANT NOTES

• Congratulations to the Clarke Central Girls and Boys Swimming teams for their performance at the GHSA State Championships.  The girls' swim team placed 21st out of all AAAA/AAAAA teams.  The Medley Relay (Isabella Nelson, Finley Freeman, Janie Ripps, and Charlotte Foggin) and the 400 Freestyle Relay (Janie Ripps, Carson Yeomans, Finley Freeman, and Charlotte Foggin) made it back to finals and placed 20th and 19th at finals.  Charlotte Foggin qualified for finals in both of her individual events - the 200 yard and 500 yard freestyle - and placed 8th in the 200, and 10th in the 500.  Other notable races were the boys' 400 freestyle relay (Torin Trotter, Elliott Woodward, Evan Cornish, and Thomas Brown) who placed 21st in prelims, Torin Trotter who placed 21st in both of his events - the 200 IM and the 100 freestyle, and Janie Ripps who placed 22nd in the 100 butterfly. 

• Congratulations to the senior Gladiator Football players for earning the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level next year:  Lucian Anderson III, Bowling Green University; Jaylon Stone, SE Missouri State University; Daylen Howard, Georgian Military College; and Teikaris Collins, University of the Cumberlands.

• Congratulations to the following wrestlers for their performance at the Region/Area Championships: Dar Htoo, Region 8AAAAA Champion at 106; Kim Uriostegui, Area 4AAAAA Runner-up at 120; Lila Sloan, Area 4 AAAAA Runner-up at 125; Nick Paul, Region 8AAAAA 3rd place at 285.  Each of these wrestlers will compete at the State AAAAA Sectional Tournament.

• Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Soccer team for their wins over East Jackson and Cherokee Bluff; the JV Boys Soccer team for their wins over Jefferson and Oglethorpe County.

• Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Soccer team for their win over East Jackson.

• Congratulations to the Varsity Boys and Girls Tennis teams for their wins over BASA.

• Congratulations to the Boys JV Basketball team for their win over Morgan County; the Freshman Boys Basketball team for their win over Franklin County.

• The Clarke Central varsity boys and girls basketball teams will host Jefferson on Monday, February 6 in the last regular season game of the year.  Senior participants in basketball and cheerleading will be recognized with their parents prior to the tip-off of the boys game.
