The Clarke Central Athletic Department offers a unique learning opportunity. Each student-athlete who decides to participate on an athletic team is required to spend many long hard hours of mental and physical preparation. The student-athlete is asked to sacrifice self-serving interest for team goals. Through this sacrifice the student-athlete helps establish unity, learns to work toward established common goals of a group and develops a strong work-ethic.

High school athletics provide the student-athlete an opportunity to meet with success and failure and learn how to deal with both. It provides individuals the opportunity to enhance the character traits of honesty, faithfulness, trust and loyalty.

The student-athlete will establish friendships and have experiences that will be remembered all of their life. Therefore, the athletic program at Clarke Central High School is compliments and enhances the academic program and provides a means for student self-expression, development and recognition.

The Clarke Central Athletic Department strives to:

  • Promote, develop, direct, protect and regulate interscholastic athletic relationships within the department and between other schools
  • Stimulate fair play, friendly rivalry, good sportsmanship among contestants, schools and communities
  • Promote academic excellence among members of the athletic program

To participate in an interscholastic athletic activity at Clarke Central High School a student must:

  • Have a valid physical on file with the athletic office
  • Have a signed consent form on file with the athletic office
